Depolarized Survey

When a native potential survey is not feasible, a depolarized survey is a close interval survey technique used to create a baseline for figuring out the degree of cathodic protection for a building.

By temporarily cutting off the current from the pipeline, a depolarized survey tries to establish a natural condition. The CP current is turned off for an appropriate amount of time, or the current is allowed to decay until neither cathodic protection nor it is present. Then measurements are made.

Depolarized surveys for oil, gas and water pipelines can be carried out in the field by qualified Consultech technical experts. After that, NACE-certified specialists examine the data.
